Description
Getting back into color. This piece was push myself to actually have a subject and a background in the same image without it looking strange. To use color to tie them together.
Also to try and develop ideas more. Like the fox critter has been floating around in my head for a good bit. I've been sketching him to try and get a more finalized version of what I want. My idea of him is to be some sort of sight spirit who doesn't have most of the other senses. So no taste, smell, or hearing. To have large fixed eyes.

Ahh! I absolutely love the color palette you used. It's nice to see some color from you again. Not that I don't like grayscale, but color's always fun to use, especially with fantasy pieces like this. 
I'm loving the fox creature's design; especially the large fixed eyes and his snout. It just looks so . . . cute. Pfft. And like it belongs in this scenery, especially if this place stays kind of dark and maybe misty like this all the time. Speaking of which, I have a soft spot for the trees and their color. Definitely. :'DD
I can see that you added the color of the background to your creature, which definitely helps tie him into his surroundings. I'm wondering if he would tie in with the background even more if he were a little more blue-green. I mean, either way I still love it though, so that doesn't bother me at all.
. . . but I will point out that the part of the land that he's standing on that's raised needs to be a little darker underneath/on the side so it's clear that it's a raised part of the land. I actually didn't see it until I was looking at the creature's shadow. Other than that, I love this. Awesome job.
